The MVP does not create user accounts and does not ask for a password.
Privacy
The TechLedger MVP stores your work records in your browser.
TechLedger is currently a client-side planning app. It does not require an account, does not upload job records, and does not sync your ledger to a TechLedger server. Export and import JSON files to move records between browsers.
Data stored by the app
When you use the app, your browser may store job entries, tax-year settings, filing-status inputs, home-office settings, and prior-year tax values in local storage under the TechLedger origin. This data stays on the device and browser profile where you entered it unless you export it, import it into another browser, back up your browser profile, or use browser/device sync features outside TechLedger.
No server-side job database
Job records are not sent to a TechLedger database in the current version.
Export, import, and clear controls
Use Settings to export local data, import a prior TechLedger JSON export, or clear the local ledger from this browser.
Camera, photos, and location
The current TechLedger MVP does not upload receipts, take photos, use OCR, request camera access, or request device location. If a later version adds receipt scanning, auto-mileage, or cloud sync, this page should be updated before those features are enabled.
Analytics and third parties
This build does not include a third-party analytics script in the application source. Hosting infrastructure may still log standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, URL, and timestamp for security and delivery operations.
Browser local storage is not a filing archive. Export your records regularly, keep backup copies outside the browser, and keep source documents such as platform statements, invoices, mileage logs, and receipts in your own records.
